Business Insider put together this great video describing the effects of checking your phone before bed.
Staring at screens right before sleep turns out to be a lot worse than previously thought. Dr. Dan Siegel, clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, lays out all of the negative effects bedtime screen viewing can have on the brain and body.
This is encouraging information for our family as we are moving toward earlier bedtime and cutting out our screen times earlier in the day. It’s actually very difficult for us so it’s nice to know there are quite a bit of benefits for the change!
